On Weather

I am enamoured by weather. Not in a 'has a tracking program on her computer' kind of way, but in a 'gosh. Isn't it interesting how weather can change the way people FEEL?' kind of way.

Depending on your mood, OR the sort of mood you want to be in, weather and location can make all the difference. If I am sad and moody, all it can take is finding a location *appropriate* to the weather....for example....a rainy day needs a cafe near a trendy urban precinct, a couple of good friends and a deep and meaningful chat; OR a mountain top country town with wood fires and homemade scones, antique shops and farmers markets; OR a comfy chair in your own home and a big, fat book. I love sunshiney, warm days with slight breezes...perfect for a day at the beach, in your bikini...[Still! At (almost) 45! Go girl!]...a woven straw beach bag, your notebook, a camera and a book. A rainy weekend requires me, with endless cups of tea, jazz in the background, my laptop and a lovely view of spring bulbs in my garden, and lots of great ideas. Midsummer heat needs to include frosty glasses of Moscato under a shady tree, muslin dresses and cold fruit; OR a gorgeous shady spot on Mon Repos beach, a big hat and some beachcombing.

No matter what the weather throws at me I can find something awesome to do. Half the pleasure in being alive comes from being creative with your time, and how you spend it. Weather changes are like the set in a play in which I am the actor - here is my mis en scene, now go create the script.
